Sitting at the airport it hasn't really hit me that I'm going to be away from Stanford for nearly half a year. Crazy. Complete insanity. But I'm looking forward to the next six months, and along those lines I also want to be able to look back at these six months. I'm selfish. This is more for me, future me, then you. But if you'd like to periodically check in on my adventures take a gander.
A few disclaimers before proceeding:
It's no comedy blog. But I can write what I like because it's my blog.
I have terrible grammar (and spelling, but thank goodness for spellcheck).
I say 'but' a lot.
We'll see how long I keep this up. (Not so much a disclaimer as foreshadowing)
On cards:
I really like cards. Greeting cards. Blank cards. Birthday cards. I miss you cards. They don't even have to be that funny. I've found that I have different standards for real jokes and hallmark jokes. Hallmark jokes that have me cracking up in the aisles of stores (yes, I like to read cards in the aisles of stores. I'm just cool like that. (Are you allowed to put punctuation within parenthesis? (Too late.) Footnotes. Would footnotes be better?)) would have me shake my head in pity and shame if a real person tried to deliver those jokes to me out of a crown stamped envelope. But back to why I mentioned this. Thank you everyone who signed my goodbye card. I would have loved it even without your signatures. But you're messages took it to the next level of awesomeness. I'm going to take it with me to Japan and read it when I miss Stanford and the people there.
On people watching in the airport:
I usually like to people watch at the airport. But the people in my direct line of vision just lay down and the seats are blocking them from my judging eyes.
